She was also joined by her fiancé Nick Loeb, and the pair looked loved up as they cuddled in front of the cameras.
The Modern Family star made a quick change after the awards ended, swapping her dramatic gown for the racier one.
Sofia took the time to pose for a photo too which she posted on her WhoSay account, along with the caption: ‘Feeling so Jlo!!!! Change for the partyyys.’
To the ceremony, the 41-year-old had sported a strapless black Zac Posen number, which boasted a full skirt.
Sofia even joked about how large the frock was when she told E! host Ryan Seacrest: 'I feel like I'm wearing a tent.'
The Colombian born beauty teamed the dress with a statement turquoise necklace and wore winged eyeliner and her glossy auburn locks in pretty waves.
Sofia was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress in a TV Show, Miniseries of TV Movie award.
But as usual the down-to-earth star took it all in her stride when she lost out on the gong, which went to Jacqueline Bisset for Dancing On The Edge.
