Thousands of cyclists got on their bikes for the annual Sky Ride through Manchester.
Model Kelly Brook waved riders off on a 15km route – taking in Castlefield, the National Cycling Centre and the Etihad stadium.
Major streets including Deansgate and Princess Street were closed to cars so up to 20,000 cyclists can enjoy the city at their leisure.
It is the fourth year the ride – organised by Sky and Manchester council – has taken place.
Kelly told the MEN: “I love riding my bike. I've taken part in the Sky Ride for the last four years and I think it's a great way to encourage people to get on their bikes.
“People should get involved for all sorts of reasons – to keep fit, and healthy, it's a great social thing, and also great for the environment to leave your care at home.”
The free one-day event has seen pedal power take over the city, giving people the chance to see it from a different angle.
A bike activity area has been set up at the Castlefield arena – including BMX stunts – and British Cycling experts are also on hand to give bike tips.
Organisers are aiming to get 1m more people on their bikes nationwide by the end of next year.
Neil Fairlamb, head of sport at Manchester council, said: “Sky Ride Manchester is always an enjoyable event and today's ride did not disappoint.
“It was wonderful to see friends and families appreciating the city, being active and having fun.
“We want more people to keep fit by participating in cycling both socially and competitively and Sky Ride plays a key part in that.”
